Genuine tempo anticipated with a host of these to show good early dash. EVIES FIRST (4) has fair recent form lines to his name. He was reported to be distressed after his last outing. He has won twice and finished second three times from seven starts over this course and distance. Has to be respected in this field. AUSSENKEHR (3) is having his first run for the Kelly Mitchley stable. The 1000m may be on the sharp side for him but he has enough ability to fight out the finish. FIRST ORIGIN (1) was an easy winner of his last start over this course and distance. He showed good speed under today's 4kgs claiming apprentice and kept finding all the way to the line. Will be hard to peg back. THE WINTER LAKE (2) returns from a break of 11 weeks. Consistent performer last prep whose most recent appearance resulted in a fifth over 1000m at this track. Nicely placed to kick off another successful campaign.
