Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Tinsnip. APPLE SCHNAPPS (2) is a very handy country-class performer and is heading toward another win after back-to-back placings on this track to open this prep. He has only missed a cheque once around this track and has also won twice. Hard to beat. GAMBLER'S GOLD (5) is a stablemate of the top pick and is heading in the same direction after a solid effort for third here last time out, finishing under a length from the winner that day. He has won twice over the journey and should be hard to hold out after drawing the pole position. ACEFIRE (7) resumed at an easier level here just over 3 weeks ago and was too strong when coming with a strong late run to score by over a half-a-length. He is just as sharp second up and with 5.5 kilos less to carry this time, he can win again. TINSNIP (6) has been out of form for some time but will find this his easiest assignment in a while. He might need the run but is worth including in all combinations on his best form. SUGGESTED PLAY: Acefire each way.
