Strong early tempo with Seiun Deseo, La La Marcherdroit and Hirono La Mer leading the way. CAPITAL SAX (16) started at $4.30 last time and ran below expectations, finishing fifth and beaten 5 lengths at Tokyo Dirt over 1600m after being in contention on the corner. Kohei Matsuyama gets the best out of this three-year-old colt. Suitably placed so anticipating a big run this time. HIRONO LA MER (6) stuck on well last start to finish third over 1900m at Kyoto Dirt after showing good early speed. Placed to advantage so expect a big run. KALPA (11) is back at the races for the first time since March 17. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last prep over 1400m at Hanshin Dirt. Among the better hopes. MARBLE MOUNTAIN (5) was too good for a maiden field last start over 1800m at Niigata Dirt, scoring by 6 lengths. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Tougher task this time but expected to be competitive again.
