Genuine tempo with Arduous leading the way. ARDUOUS (6) switched from a top Sydney stable and looked a run short first-up when beaten 2.2L over 1500m at Warwick. Has strong NSW provincial form over a mile, and she maps well today. Cejay Graham goes on and she'll be hard to beat with the extra fitness. SPIRIT OF NURAI (2) found Eagle Farm much too tough, but then came here and spiked her figures winning a CL1 over this trip. She'd be in the finish holding that form. PROPOSE (7) did a good job to place at Warwick and maps for the run of the race. Peaks now and has claims. FIRE AND LIGHT (1) came from the back to miss a nose here this grade three runs back and he's raced in much better provincial grade since. Will be giving them a start again but the 2kg claim brings him into it. ANCIENT MISSION (10) has been within range here both runs this preparation and steps up to 1600m for the first time. Likely to drift back from the inside gate but can get in the money if the splits come. SUGGESTED PLAY: Arduous to win.
