A slick tempo on the cards with Aedificata and Metal Metallica battling for the lead ahead of Mer and Jackson Roots. JACKSON ROOTS (3) pushed forward from a wide draw when resuming last start and found a position close to the lead before sticking on well to finish second over 1400m at this track. Capable of taking this out. WONDER GUARNERI (2) turned in an eye-catching run over 1400m at this track last time, ridden back before coming home with a powerful run to finish third. Could be tough to hold out again. VALIDUS (6) finished fourth when first-up from a spell last start over 1700m at this track after racing on the pace for much of the way. Will push forward and is among the chances. METAL METALLICA (7) did well last start but found a couple better over 1400m at this track, beaten only 1.5 lengths. This looks a good race for him and he is one of the key runners.
