Melkor and Uhtred can set an even tempo. CLEW BAY (8) whacked away gamely to finish fourth as the favourite in this grade at Pukekohe nearly 4 weeks ago, following on from some sound form in better company before that. She can make amends in this, so follow your money. MIDORI BURLY (4) failed to fire on a very testing track at Avondale last time out over 1600m. The extra 500m will suit him, and he is worth another chance. KHANDO (10) is another battling type who has also found it hard to win another race. She can improve on a firmer surface, and she is well worth including in all top 4 combos. TAUPO DANCER (3) treks up from the Central Districts, and his form has been good enough on occasions this prep. If he is in the right frame of mind, then he can figure in the top 3 here. INTOXICATED (6) will be backing up quickly from a solid effort for second at Arawa Park 5 days ago. He can go one better in this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Midori Burly each way.
