Hot tempo expected from Dusty Bay and Airworthy. The most open race of the day. AIRWORTHY (13) pushed hard from a wide gate to lead last start only to feel the pinch in the closing stages over 1250m at Canterbury. Fitter for two runs back from a spell and will conserve a bit more energy today from a good gate and a long run to the bend. Ready to find peak form. SOCIABLE (10) made pleasing progress last time out at the second run of the campaign, closing hard but just missing behind the in-form Mrs Maree over 1100m here. Looks ideally placed out to this distance at the third run back. The speedy MAFIA (1) led all the way to score two back at the Kenso then tried a repeat performance at Canterbury more recently but found one better. Has a big field to cross today but he is game if nothing else. THE REPLICANT (11) gave away too much start when resuming over this course and distance last start. Has a tremendous top-three strike rate under today's setup. HIGH BLUE SEA (4) is a big chance dropping back to midweek company. SUGGESTED PLAY: Airworthy each-way.
