A solid tempo on the cards with Born To Be Alive taking charge. GIDDY GAN'S JOY (9) went close two runs ago over 2200m at Coffs Harbour then got too far back to get involved last start at Toowoomba. Has a solid record over today's journey. Maps nicely just off the pace and will be hard to resist late in the piece. ROCK THE MACHINE (1) closed with purpose to be beaten just a length on a soft track over 2245m at Grafton last Saturday. Less effective on heavy ground - big chance if there is an upgrade in track conditions. FLASH PRINCE (8) dominated first-up over the mile on a heavy deck at Tuncurry. Two subsequent runs have been less impressive but a return to a sloppier track helps the cause. BORN TO BE ALIVE (4) mixes his form. Game in defeat two back over the mile at Coffs Harbour - in contention with a repeat of that effort. OTTOMAN EMPIRE (5) is fitter for two runs back from a spell and will appreciate getting out over a bit more ground this afternoon. SUGGESTED PLAY: Giddy Gan's Joy each-way.
