Not seeing a great deal of early speed. TORQUE SO HOT (3) returns from a six-month spell after showing promise in his maiden campaign when favourite in his two runs. Has been gelded since then and looked very good winning a Doomben trial on 2 June. Should be too smart for this modest field. TAKE SHELTER (2) has not raced since a tiring seventh on debut over 1200m at Beaudesert on 6 February. Should appreciate the sharper trip today so a bright return will not surprise. EGYPTIAN LASS (6) has led for home at her last couple of runs, the best effort two back when she was nailed on the line over 1115m at Grafton. Gets through the heavy ground okay and might prove tough to catch. DECOY (5) showed no early pace when fresh from a spell over 950m at Moree recently but did rally late. Fitter and the small field suits. PRIDE OF NATIONS (8) filled a placing at her only try over this distance. In contention off a seven-week let-up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Torque So Hot to win.
