The race lacks early speed so doubt they will go too hard. GOT GUMPTION (2) kept coming last time to finish 1.2 lengths from the winner in fourth over 1100m at this track. The extra trip a plus and rates among the main hopes. The well-related DETERMINATION (1) (half to G1 winner Bella Vella) was far from disgraced when second last start over 1300m here, beaten 2.5 lengths. That followed a win at Rockhampton the start prior. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. SMASHING ROSIE (10) was well supported when resuming last time out over 1200m at Barcaldine and proved too strong, scoring by 1.1 lengths. Fitter for that last hit-out and is a great chance to get the prize again. SPIRIT OF MAC (5) saluted two runs ago then turned in a decent effort last time out when third over 1200m at Townsville, beaten 1.75 lengths. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 2,1,10,5.
