SURPASSER (5) improving gelding who showed good early dash to grip on and secure third over 1509m at Port Macquarie. Will go forward again from the tricky draw and figure prominently. CREATIVE RIGHTEOUS (2) returns from a let-up and now in the Peter Cheers yard. Created a good impression when leading throughout for a slick win over 1400m at Ballarat Synthetic on June 26. Ran third in a recent trial at Cranbourne over 1200m. Maps well and the concussion plates go on. Each way. ORDINARY ANGEL (4) tough Maiden win two-back, then shouldered the 61kg for a tiring eighth over 1450m at Quirindi. Worth another chance over this trip. KOWLOON MAGNATE (10) due for a change of luck and comes here hard fit fifth up. Sat on the speed and no match for the handy Valedor when third over 1600m at Scone. No shock to see him take this out.
