FULL OF GUSTO (1) was so brave when finishing sixth in open grade at Riccarton 6 days ago, and he will have no trouble with the extra 400m. It is hard to believe that he has yet to win even a maiden race, and that should change in this. Clearly on top for us. OVERHEATED (3) is a one-paced battler who should receive a cosy run early on from the pole position, and aside from the top pick, this field is very modest. Top 4 claims. COSTANZA (4) steps up to a middle distance for the first time, and he can plod his way into the top 4 this time. THE PEONY XPRESS (8) has been very disappointing since finishing a close runner-up at Riccarton on the turf there 3 starts back. If she can find that form again, then she is worth including in all top 4 combos. CHATAYA (7) has more upside than most in this, and she is ready for a middle distance fourth up from a spell. Stick with her. SUGGESTED PLAY: Full Of Gusto should be too good in this.
