A strong tempo is assured with Inferencia and Aimpoint leading the charge. Tough race to end the day. GOLDEN LOOM (5) strengthened over the break as is evident with his consistent record. Was a month between runs with the 61kg when a narrow third over 1550m at Canterbury in BM64 class. At his top for this and drawn to stalk the good tempo. Hard to hold out. FALCON LAIR (8) comes to hand quickly and primed for this third-up. Started hard in the market again with a game third over 1600m at Canberra. In leading yard and should relish the Newcastle track. Top-three player. AIMPOINT (2) tough gelding who will prove hard to run down with the sting out of the ground. Will find this more to his liking after giving his all from the outside gate with a close-up fifth over 1600m at Tamworth in the Quirindi Cup. Each way contender. REGAL PROBLEM (9) all three Highway runs have been sound and doesn't need to improve much to win this. Drops in grade and trip and will appreciate some cut out of the ground. Will be closing late.
