Hammering Away and Play The Record to apply plenty of early pressure over the sprint journey. CANAMBLE (7) showed plenty of potential as a juvenile, winning on debut and having her last start in a strong open field at Scone before having a spell. She looked ready to run a big race when finishing runner-up in a recent Newcastle trial and even from a wide draw, she is the one to beat in this. LOTS OF FIDDEES (14) broke through for an overdue maiden win here just over 6 weeks ago and as so often happens when the penny drops, he can go right on with the job. LOCKDOWN LAD (3) ran on late after making a slow start fresh up at Armidale 12 days ago and carries 2.5kg less this time. He is a progressive gelding who only has to begin with them this time to be a winning threat. Don't drop him. VIOLET AND BLUE (8) made the most of a top Matthew Cahill ride to get the job done fresh up at Wellington just over a month ago. She is drawn to receive a cosy run early and can take the next step immediately. SUGGESTED PLAY: Canamble to win.
