Specula and Light Infantry to take up the running at a strong tempo. CARBROOK (1) has been trying to win for some time but is heading the right way with a last-start second-place finish at Armidale 12 days ago. He might be better placed over 1000m for now and with Aaron Bullock taking over from an apprentice, he can go one better this time. SPECULA (15) stuck on gamely to finish fourth at Narromine last start and will be close to her peak fitness third up from a spell. She carries 2kg less this time and welcomes Jenny Duggan to the saddle who could help coax that little bit extra out of this mare where it matters most. GOODBYE STRANGER (3) showed potential in his initial prep and resumes from a spell that would have done him the world of good. Matthew Cahill keeps the faith and the pair merit healthy respect. A market watch is advised. HIBIKI HARMONY (9) was not far away in her only start as a juvenile and is resuming from a spell with the blinkers on for the first time. She will be ready to run a race with a couple of tune-up trials under her belt. SUGGESTED PLAY: Carbrook to win.
