Genuine pace with Me Me taking up the running ahead of Stromness and The Main Event. SPIRIT IN THE DARK (14) settled well back but went through her gears late to get up for third when resuming over 1000m at Canberra last start. Lightly raced filly who looks to be back in much better shape and the extra furlong is ideal. COMMANDORO (1) has hit the line with gusto at both runs this time in work over much sharper trips. Very fit now and looking for this sort of journey. Just needs luck slotting in from a wide alley to be in the finish. URAFIKI (10) appreciated the return to firmer footing last start when fourth over this distance at Wyong. Faces the weakest field of her four runs this prep so she gets her chance. SHEZASIREN (13) was there on straightening but couldn't finish off when resuming over 1000m at Wyong recently. Worth another chance with blinkers applied. The lightly raced THE MAIN EVENT (4) resumes. Good effort to finish runner-up on debut last prep so expect he will come to hand quickly again. SUGGESTED PLAY: This looks a nice race for Spirit In The Dark.
