MIKANO VENUS (7) was leading on the turn and fought on well to finish second over 1400m at this track at her latest appearance. Seigo Tsukamoto who has two wins when partnering stays on. Sure to run well. DEVANCEMENT (4) was close to a win before a three-and-a-half months break, finishing off with a minor placing at this track. Expect he has come on over the break. Good chance to open this campaign on a winning note. A SHIN JADEITE (3) went forward and proved too strong last time out, scoring by 2.5 lengths over 1600m at Kasamatsu. Must raise the bar but she has the talent to test this line-up. LEONINO (6) ran a better race last start, finishing fifth over 1500m at this track. Better than recent efforts suggest and worth including.
