He ran second in a strong BM64 fresh at Caulfield last time in, beaten a neck by Excess which reads well. Expecting him to run a big race here. FISSION (5) was close up here over 1000m two back before a sound effort in a good race at Sandown Hillside. He's usually around the mark in these races. BLUE STRATUM (10) has been racing against some of the better juveniles in Melbourne. He was poor behind Aldolfito last time but clearly has the talent to win this. SHIRSHOV (4) can improve back to the Valley 955m where he usually runs well. CORE CONCEPT (13) was a narrow winner at Bendigo fresh and is in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Jewel Bay each-way.
