Pace strong from Feargal and Macy Moon vying for the lead closely attended by Stormstout. STORMSTOUT (8) had her last start at Caulfield in a 500K race and was not disgraced even though she was well back that day. She will be suited to 1400m fresh up and also benefits from a 2kg claim. If the tempo is genuine, she can have the last say. Watch for her late. DOUGAL MCKEEN (5) broke through for a well-deserved maiden win at Sale by a nose in her penultimate start and then flew home late to run third as favourite at Echuca last time out. He will be suited to this circuit and will be right in the finish again. SERIN (9) won his maiden here four starts back and all of his subsequent three starts have had merit. He might be looking for some cut in the ground but is fit and should be included in all combinations. SACRED EAGLE (1) motored home late to finish fourth fresh up on this track 11 days ago and the extra furlong is ideal.
