No noted leader on paper but The Drafter and Mighty Zou have enough dash to take up the running despite wide gates. EGYPTOLOGIST (1) arrived too late as favourite when finishing runner-up when resuming from a spell before setting the record straight at Mudgee last time out over 1400m, scoring comfortably by a neck. He cops a wide gate here but will have time to find his feet from the mile start on this track. He has potential and can have the last say again. Watch for him late. AIN'T SHE SWELL (9) roared home late to finish second here fresh up from a spell and will be better for the run. The step up to a mile is ideal and she can go one better. MIGHTY ZOU (2) enjoyed the step up to a mile and led all of the way to score by a nose at Taree in a tough performance last start. He is a progressive gelding who is good enough to overcome a wide draw and win again. WOLF BAY (3) has been racing well this prep and will relish getting out to a mile after having three runs back from a spell over shorter journeys. Aaron Bullock steps into the irons and the pair should go close to taking this out. SUGGESTED PLAY: Egyptologist each-way.
