Without an obvious leader, it may be left to Reconnaissance, Do It Right and Mangifera to control the tempo. ELEGANT INDI (2) was expected to win over 1800m at Ascot but drew wide and didn't muster any sort of challenge. Dropped back to 1400m following and came with a big run to win at this track. Keeps the gun hoop and finally draws an inside barrier. She can go on with the job. OCEAN GODDESS (5) rates similarly off her Belmont win this grade/trip. Had a tough run and finished over the top of them. Peaks and can repeat the dose here. MANGIFERA (3) was okay last time on the main course in a bit stronger and even better narrowly beaten over 1500m at Ascot prior. She also has claims. RECONNAISSANCE (4) draws well and finds easier. Should appreciate the longer sprint. Don't underestimate CHINO BAY (7), who raced well last preparation and is capable of quick improvement. SUGGESTED PLAY: Elegant Indi appeals most.
