She cops another tricky gate, and with 2kg less to carry, she is the one to beat. REKINDLE (5) has been thereabouts in her races in the North Island, and she should be easier to place in the South Island. She makes her debut from the Nayton Mitchell stable, who have already produced her to win a recent trial at Ashburton. She has the pole position and has to be respected, especially if the money comes for her. DUBONNET ROUGE (4) had a tough trip from a wide gate last time out, and was runner-up when resuming before that, both times at Ashburton. She will be close to her peak third up and can bounce straight back into the money here. RUSSIAN BLUES (14) needed her fresh run on the turf here nearly 3 weeks ago, and she can be a quick improver.
