Without an obvious leader, it may be left to The Git Up, Call Me Terry and Shyamalan to control the tempo. SHYAMALAN (1) began poorly and was never really a threat last start over 1200m at Canberra when having the first run for a new stable. That followed a seven-week let-up so he will tighten up considerably. Big chance over the extra furlong today. SPLENDID MAGNUS (6) stepped up to 1400m for the first time last start and finished too well in a maiden at this track. Coming along nicely this prep and is ready to go to the next level. CALL ME TERRY (3) has been just behind the placegetters in his two runs this campaign. Steps up a little in trip this time which will suit. Watch for a much better run. THE BENTLEY (7) took 17 attempts but finally broke the maiden last start over today's journey at Tamworth. Has a decent seven-furlong record so he should be about the mark again. THE GIT UP (9) registered her 12th minor placing from 23 runs when an eye-catching third over 1200m at Mudgee recently. Placed here at this trip two back. Must go in all exotics combinations. SUGGESTED PLAY: Shyamalan each-way in a tricky race.
