There should be a bit of pressure with Just Joan and Dubliners pressing forward in advance of Sir William and Pluck 'N' Spy. It looks a race in two between the ones with decent provincial form. Clearly on top is BETTER BLOOM (9) who caught the eye on debut at Goulburn then worked through the line strongly to be beaten just a length over 1200m at Newcastle last start. Gets all the favours from the inside draw and is perfectly placed over an extra furlong. QUADRIA (10) did little on debut then was ridden more aggressively and improved sharply to finish a close fourth over 1300m at Hawkesbury last time. Open to further improvement and it would not shock if she gave the favourite and a run for her money. SIR WILLIAM (6) went okay here two back then didn't appreciate the drop back in distance when a bit plain over 1200m at Nowra. Can improve over an extra furlong today. EDIKA (2) was a bit one-paced at Nowra last time. Hard to see him winning but is worth including in the exotics. BRITISH NAVY (4) lacks a turn of foot so should appreciate the longer trip today. SUGGESTED PLAY: Better Bloom to win.
