Moderate pace with Alpine Honey taking up the running ahead of Merlin Beach and Wyndinthewillows. WYNDINTHEWILLOWS (12) stepped up to this trip and just missed at Launceston. The former Victorian has more to give and finally draws an inside barrier. The 2kg claim is handy and she's on a 9-day return. SOUTH GEORGIA (9) is busting to win and brings a narrow defeat this track/trip in tougher grade. Will need some luck pushing forward from a cruel gate but has a senior hoop aboard today and that may come. KISS MY ROCK (3) is a Victorian who would be right in the finish on song. Hasn't had the best of it his last two, but there will be no excuses today with John Allen positioning him from a handy barrier. BLOOMING EDGE (2) comes back from a middle distance but has been threatening to win and keeps Newitt. A hope with average luck. Ditto MERLIN BEACH (8), who is second-up with plenty in the tank. SUGGESTED PLAY: Wyndinthewillows appeals most.
