A solid tempo anticipated with Shaquila and Candid ahead of Artic Panther and Crusader Kings. CRUSADER KINGS (1) started a warm favourite and proved far too strong at Bathurst second-up. Similar sort of contest for him here and he's drawn to advantage over his major rival. Looks the one to beat again. MICRO MIKKI (2) has that wide gate to overcome but if he is able to get some early breaks he will appreciate a better surface than the heavy last time. Must be respected. PRESS FORWARD (3) has been freshened since a below par effort at Wellington a month ago when favourite. Wasn't beaten far but more was expected. Could bounce back. CHAMPERS GIRL (4) is fitter for one run off a two month break and SLUSH FUND (9) next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Crusader Kings to win. Save on Micro Mikki.
