Insufficient early speed to generate more than a muddling tempo. SHE'S A SPLINTER (6) just missed first-up as a 30/1 chance before getting the job done at Pinjarra last time out. Chris Parnham rides now from a good draw and the extra distance doesn't look an issue. Can raise the bar again third-up and bring up back-to-back wins. ENCROACHING (2) jumped favourite ahead of She's A Splinter on debut and only just missed, beaten 0.4L at Pinjarra. Will need a touch of luck from the draw but is sure to be better for the debut effort and he can turn the tables. SWIFT RULER (1) missed by 1.3L at this course fresh when sticking on well over 1200m. Out to 1300m now for the first time but it doesn't look an issue on the way he's finished off in both career starts. Pike sticks with him and he can put his best foot forward. SPIRIT OF DAN (4) draws much better today when closing well behind She's A Splinter and has to be included. MANHATTAN RHYTHM (3) draws the inside again and can feature in the finish. SUGGESTED PLAY: She's A Splinter can go back-to-back.
