Strong early tempo with Wichitall and Ultra Blue leading the way. Competitive. PHOEBE BUFFAY (8) finished second over a mile at Seymour two runs back, but then disappointed stepping up to 1800m at Caulfield Heath. Won this grade/trip three back at Seymour and has an inside gate today and the blinkers on again. Well placed to get back on track. ULTRA BLUE (4) found Sandown-Hillside a bit tough following his Geelong win before finishing 2.25 lengths from the winner over 1406m at Terang this level. Ran his best race in a 70 this course/trip, and with the 2kg claim gets his chance. WICHITALL (1) landed two consecutive wins but didn't run out the extra distance here last time in a 66. The all-the-way win in a 66 at Morphettville prior reads well, and he keeps the handy 3kg claim. STAY SILENT (3) won a 66 at Sale and then led again and just missed this trip in a 66 at Pakenham. Uses the inside barrier, and the 4kg claim brings him right into it. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Phoebe Buffay.
