Tricky. INITIAL MOMENT (9) is a local taking on a jumps race for the first time. Good effort last start to lead and salute on the flat by 1.3 lengths over 2100m at Horsham. Has had two hurdle trials since and has the inside gate and a handy 3kg claim. MALBOROUGH BAY (6) resumes, and the former Kiwi concluded the last prep with a jumps placing (3100m) at Te Aroha. Has had three trials since arriving on these shores and rates a definite winning chance. BALINOR (1) has been racing on the flat recently. Finished second last time at Sandown-Hillside over 3000m and is likely to show more over the sticks this time around. Pateman is a positive jockey engagement. KARBURAN (4) resumes and tackles the jumps for the first time following a yard switch. Last appeared when he scored by half a length on the flat over 2500m at Pakenham.
