Good pressure from the outset with James The Great, Night People and Crystanado taking up the running over Arizona Activist and Artrese. ARIZONA ACTIVIST (2) won fresh up at Sale as a prohibitive favourite in what was his first start as a gelding. His next couple of starts were also full of merit, including a third in a stronger grade at Sandown-Lakeside nearly 3 weeks ago. He is back in class and should be hard to hold out. NIGHT PEOPLE (5) led all of the way when scoring fresh up at Cranbourne to clear his maiden status and he was near that sort of form again when finishing runner-up at Geelong last start. He starts from the pole position which can be an advantage on the poly track and he should be right in the finish. LE MESSAGER (1) was in good form before his last start on the turf here just over 6 weeks ago when he finished sixth as favourite. The freshen-up would have done him no harm and he is capable of bouncing straight back into the placings here. Follow your money. ARTRESE (3) won against a similar field at Edenhope last start and only has to cope with an extra 2 kilos in weight to be hard to beat again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Arizona Activist to win.
