Rising Sphere and El Magnificence to battle for the early lead at a slick tempo. POP MAGIC (9) made good progress through the grades in his last campaign and is shaping up for his best prep yet. He normally needs a run but will be even stronger now and is good enough to take this out fresh up. RISING SPHERE (3) is a very competitive gelding at this level and won fresh up here 3 weeks ago. He drops back in class for this and a 4-kilo weight rise may not be enough to stop him from recording career victory number 10. THROW AT DA STUMPS (6) mixed his form at Alice Springs earlier in the year and should appreciate being back on this circuit. He has not missed a cheque in 6 starts fresh-up in the past, including 3 wins, and should go close to taking this out. LUMBER PUNK (1) has changed stables since last racing and does look very well placed in this company, despite having the top weight.
