Nicely placed to feature in the finish. NINE GATES (7) ran below his best last start when beaten 9 lengths into tenth from a wide draw over today's course and distance. Better than the latest run suggests and can improve sharply. VENIRE (9) was beaten 10 lengths into fifth over 1400m at Urawa at his latest appearance. Likely improver with strong top-three prospects.
