Reasonable tempo with Damascus Gate probably leading but a few others should keep him honest. BARCELONA EXPRESS (1) bolted in over 1300m at Armidale two starts ago then was beaten a long way from home over this trip in a Rosehill Highway more recently. Reliable performer in this grade so he can certainly bounce back. DAMASCUS GATE (2) has been poor in two runs this prep. Led last start but capitulated over 1450m at Muswellbrook. Backs up eight days later so he might be ready to improve sharply. OTIUM (9) easily won his maiden first-up over 1250m here then stayed at that trip last start but struggled. Fitter and could be looking for seven furlongs now. The in-form DYECAST MISSILE (6) will make his own luck up front. His recent win over 1450m at Muswellbrook was full of merit. Must be considered. SUGGESTED PLAY: Giving Barcelona Express another chance.
