Strong tempo with El Ultimo and Elegant Explosive leading from Tears Of Victory and Verdian. The first leg of the main quaddie is an even BM65 over 1600m. PURPLE PROSE (2) showed her preference for this surface when finding winning form again here 2 weeks ago in BM60 company, scoring by 2 lengths. This is not much harder, and with 1.5kg less to carry, she should go close to repeating the dose. WANDERIN SPELLE (1) has been racing well off tough draws on the turf circuit here, and Dan Bothamley is keeping the faith. His only win came here on the poly track, and he gets his chance to upgrade his modest record at the trip. Each-way. EL ULTIMO (4) resumes from a spell over 1600m, which suggests that he has had plenty of work at home. He has had a tune-up trial, and only a wide gate is against him here. Include in all top 4 combos. PATRAINE (11) makes her poly track debut, and she has trekked a long way with the Anderton stable to be here. Stick with her on an each-way basis. ALIENA (13) has found her groove since relocating to the South Island, and another honest run is expected. SUGGESTED PLAY: Purple Rose should win.
