Plenty of first starters engaged which makes it tricky to map, but we can assume a keen tempo. BIG KAPOW (2) made an encouraging debut at Pakenham, when beaten less than half a length, then knocked up late when racing in a handy position in a much tougher race than this at Caulfield. Being beaten three lengths there is not a bad formline for this. TOROKAWA (11) is one of a few first-starters who has been trialling up nicely, particularly at the latest when she showed good early speed and was strong to the line when winning. ZOUSOUTH (7) is struggling to break through but has been around the mark in two of three runs this time in and draws to again play a prominent role. GIDDY GIRL (9) is from a top stable who was turned out after a poor run following a nice debut and has been trialling well in preparation for the return. MAYA'S ACE (12) has been given time after a two-run debut prep and recent jumpouts, including a win at Flemington two back, suggest she's come on. SUGGESTED PLAY: Big Kapow to win.
