MERLIN BEACH (6) raced forward last start and held on well to finish 1.75 lengths back in second over 2100m at this track. Suited in this and doubt switching back to the mile will bother. Is ready to go one better. CLIMBEVERYMOUNTAIN (9) is third up off two placed efforts at the track over 1400m. She's on a 7-day backup and is ready for another crack at a mile. One of the main chances. CALLED THROUGH (2) gets well back in his races and was never in contention over a mile here three weeks ago. Impressed over this trip at Hobart prior, storming home in a CL1 beaten just a half length. ALPINE WHISKEY (1) didn't get into it in the same contest but had been around the mark in sprints prior.
