Into The Fire has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. NEEDAWINNA (5) improved again with a comfortable 56 win over 1109m at Echuca two weeks ago. Was in the firing line all the way and with a 3kg claim is beautifully placed to go on with the job. Tougher sorting the remainder. DAME ANNIE (3) jumped from a wide gate and settled at the tail of the field, before finishing hard to place over 1100m in a 58 at Goulburn. Peaks and draws somewhat better today. She can make the finish again. FIRE YOUR GUNS (4) was plain off a wide gate at Albury two back, but the form around that reads well enough. Has been kept on the fresh side, and Heywood stays aboard. VINARI (10) found more like her best beaten 1.5L over 1280m at Orange in a 58. The local has a wide gate to deal with, but Owen is a positive jockey booking. SHOWTIME MAGGIE (6) is another local deserving of consideration. Has pieces of form that stack up and drops plenty in grade on a 9-day return. Like Collett's engagement. SUGGESTED PLAY: Needawinna can win.
