Expecting Rice Rice to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. FIFTIES (7) was an impressive winner last time over 1500m at Nagoya, stalking the pace before lengthening nicely to score by 3 lengths. Looks the testing material again. BARI FLAVOR (2) started at $3.10 last time and ran below expectations, finishing fifth and beaten 4 lengths at this track over 1200m. Finds a nice race and can make amends. BEST CALIF (4) settled well back when 10 lengths from the winner in ninth over 1200m at this track last start, a less impressive effort than his sixth at this track the run before. Best figures measure up nicely. Sure to run well. COMBAT ARIES (1) missed the placings two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 13 lengths away in ninth over 1400m at Urawa. Likely improver with strong top-three prospects.
