Genuine pace headed by Offertory who should kick up along the paint. CROIX DE GUERRE (3) was a tad disappointing at Waipukurau last week, and peaked on his run late after receiving the run of the race early on. The quick backup is a very good lead, and with a dip in class, he can take this out. CANAVESE (2) showed talent when trained in Australia, and his trial form in NZ has been very sound. A wide gate by this time of the day may be an advantage on a wet track, and all of his form has been when it is heavy. Follow the market leads. BAMBOOZLE (1) dropped into this class second up from a spell and finished second. He will continue to improve with racing, and another honest effort is expected. DANCING SHADOW (4) led all the way when winning his maiden here in January. If he can find the front here, then a form reversal is on the cards. Include in all top 4 combos. MAROTIRI MARSTA (5) did not have much luck over 1600m last time out, and from a superior gate over a shorter trip, he is worth another chance at blowout odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: Croix De Guerre should go close to winning this.
