Jolly Japes to take charge ahead of Talleyrand at a good tempo. JOLLY JAPES (8) has put together back-to-back placings, the latest when 1.75 lengths away in third over 1200m at Sunshine Coast when she was in the firing line all the way. Tackling a more suitable race so she is one of the main contenders. The well-related OFFSIDE (9) (half to G3 winner Red Card) finished fourth, beaten 3.5 lengths, when resuming from a spell last start over 1200m at Toowoomba. Can come on from that run and looks a serious contender. BON ICHI (2) finished fourth after being in contention on the bend at his latest appearance over 1500m at Kilcoy. Finds the right race and is worth consideration from the low draw. BOOMTOWN LADDIE (3) finished 6 lengths adrift in sixth last time over 1710m at Ipswich in a disappointing performance. Has his share of ability and can do a lot better against this line-up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Jolly Japes to shed the maiden tag.
