Strong tempo from Via Varallo, Sir Sublime and Girls Weekend. Via Varallo, Sir Sublime and Girls Weekend can set a strong tempo. CROSS TASMAN (3) was lining up for just the second time when a tidy maiden winner over this distance at Hawkesbury last start. Only needs to show a little natural improvement following that run to be highly competitive again. DIMITROV (1) has been off the scene since Australia Day 2024. Talented sprinter who usually comes to hand quickly although never off a break this long. Betting holds the key to his chances. LIGHTLY SPARKLED (14) broke the maiden with a narrow win over 1080m on the Canberra Acton recently. Gets in very light after the claim and won't spend a cent in the run from the inside draw. SUPERHERO (5) disappointed in a small field on a heavy deck at Canterbury last week. Very fit now and worth another chance on top of the ground. GIRLS WEEKEND (11) won her maiden here with authority last start. Ready to go to the next level. SUGGESTED PLAY: Cross Tasman can win again.
