Cranbourne   17 Jul 2025

GOING: S(7)

R&C Asphalt 0-64 Handicap 1000m

Track: SOFT 7   Rain (Max: 11)   Rail: Out 4m Entire Circuit. (Pent: 5.94)

Genuine tempo with Weapon Clear to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. DU CLISSON (7) resumes and was narrowly beaten in both starts last preparation. She's proven fresh and won a recent jumpout. Rates well and Childs' booking is a decent push for her chances. YES WE ARE (4) deserved the Maiden win at Sale and likes it wet. He's showing promise and Rawiller will give him every chance from a soft barrier. WEAPON CLEAR (1) is a leader who won a 58 here first up and then was overrun in the later stages on a heavy track at Bendigo. Fitter again and keeps the handy 2kg claim. He will skip over and is sure to give a sight. NIGHT FLASH (9) peaks for a leading stable and has been going well enough on the synthetic to consider. NEW YORK STAR (6) deserves consideration building on the 58-win at Moe when he led. Gets in well again with the 3kg claim. SUGGESTED PLAY: Du Clisson appeals most.
