AWAPUNI SYNTHETIC   17 Jul 2025

GOING:

CENTRAL ITM 1400m

Track: SYNTHETIC     True

Slick tempo with Cut Loose to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. EXAGGERATION (2) franked an impressive trial win with a big win on debut here nearly 6 weeks ago. He has a reputation to live up to, and from the pole position, he can repeat the dose. CUT LOOSE (1) is another promising gelding who has been patiently handled. He won in stronger company fresh up here nearly 2 weeks ago by a short head. He goes to the top of the handicap now, but is the main threat to the top pick. TEARS OF VICTORY (5) built her form strongly to a well-deserved win here just over 3 weeks ago, scoring by nearly a length. She cops a tougher draw this time, but does hold her form, and can figure in the top 3 again. CHARLOTTE'S WAY (4) has needed both of her starts back from a spell and usually strikes form at this stage of her prep. Stick with her on an each-way basis. GUM BASHER (7) was fifth as favourite behind the second pick here last start. She gets back in her races and with a genuine tempo, she can run into the money. Don't risk her. SUGGESTED PLAY: Exaggeration should take the next step immediately here.
