Strong tempo with Majalun, Sergeant Soqrat and Santiago's Pride leading the charge. HEROIC ACT (3) stayed on well at the finish after a slow start over 2400m at the Vaal last time. He gets the services of the 4kg claiming apprentice Girish Dookhit which will assist his cause. In this type of field, he can shed his maiden tag. SERGEANT SOQRAT (10) showed good improvement when second over 1400m on the Standside course last time. The booking of Gavin Lerena is a big plus. Well worth considering. MIZZEN SWORD (1) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 2000m at Turffontein Standside, finishing fourth. Finds a nice race and has each-way claims. SANTIAGO'S PRIDE (2) was unplaced two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 2400m at Vaal, when fifth. Better than recent efforts would suggest and is worth another chance.
