Strong pace from Lady Wardell and Crowie's Shout matching motors with Tryanza close at hand. Tough race with plenty of chances. GODFATHER (13) gets a much better set-up at his third run back. Launched late when a tough fifth at Eagle Farm in BM85 class. Has further improvement to come and can race a little closer from the good draw. Hard to stop. EMPEROR (5) deep into his prep when a surprise winner with the 60kg over 1110m at Doomben in BM70 grade. Can keep the winning momentum going with Blake Shinn aboard. PATINO RUBY (15) had just over three years off when surging late from back in the field with a handy fourth over 1000m at the Gold Coast. Mitch Bell takes the reins and stays in the calculations. BRAVELY (4) is building a good winning CV this campaign and is undefeated in two starts at this track. Had plenty up the sleeve with the 61.5kg when a sharp winner over 1100m at Murwillumbah. Gets weight relief with the claim and hard to ignore whilst in this form. SUGGESTED PLAY: Godfather finds his race.
