Strong early pace with Tana San Black, Real Center and Conferma going hard to cross from their wide draws. TRIDENT SPEAR (1) was well in commission when resuming last start over 2000m at Niigata when second, beaten 3 lengths. Will appreciate the longer journey and can play a major role. RED TELEOS (4) has been in the money at his last couple of runs, the latest when second over 2000m at this track. Useful type who gets his chance. CLIFFHANGER (16) showed good early dash and raced on the speed last start before fading to finish 3.5 lengths back in fourth over 2600m at Sapporo. One of the main contenders. CONFERMA (12) is a progressive three-year-old colt who resumes from a break of nine weeks, his last appearance being a win over 2200m at Niigata. Has won when fresh from a spell in the past. Should camp just off the leaders. Not to be discounted.
