The well-related LIVING FREE (1) (half to G1 winner Warning) wasn't too far away in Saturday metro grade last time out and has since had a bit of a freshen up in preparation for this. Gets some well-needed weight relief with the 2kg claim and can make his presence felt. PRIDE OF VENUS (16) has won three of her past four starts this campaign and it's hard to knock mares in form. Has to be included in calculations. ASTRA STAR (10) goes well for hoop Cormack who has two wins and six placings from just 11 steers. Top-three conveyance on best figures. DOUBTING EYE (9) is a ten-time winner at this circuit and can run a big race while fresh. DEMON AWARD (4) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be slept on. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 1,16,10,9.
