Figo The Great or The Old Lion to take the lead and attempt to control things. Not the strongest race. FIGO THE GREAT (5) has won 2 from 32 but is racing well, placing in his past four starts. He gave a good sight last time out at Sale over 2244m in a Bm64 and finds a very winnable race here. He's run second at both synthetic attempts and should prove hard to catch. LEGATUS (3) was poor last time on heavy going at Ballarat but had placed in three races prior. Best form gives him a solid chance. BIT OF OZ (2) has some upside and can improve third-up. No shock to see him feature. MAGADAN (4) is in a similar boat to Figo The Great with 1 win from 19 starts, placing often of late. He was no match but held down second last start at Ballarat Synthetic in a stronger race and can get his second win here. THE OLD LION (6) is in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Figo The Great on top.
