Plenty of early pace to be established by Regazzo Grande, Kanimambo and Give Us A Smile, with Ellis Island close at hand. ELLIS ISLAND (4) is better than his last start run over 2400m would suggest. His penultimate run when sixth against stronger company was encouraging. He is likely to race up on the speed and may be hard to peg back. GIVE US A SMILE (3) finished a close-up sixth last time out over 1900m at this track. He should have no issues with the rise to 2200m and is one of the leading contenders. REGAZZO GRANDE (1) was an easy winner of his last start over 1900m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He takes on stronger rivals but may have gained in confidence and can follow up. KANIMAMBO (2) won a game race in his last start over 1600m on this course when sent out at long odds.. He should have no issues with the rise to 2200m and should give a good account of himself.
