Abundant pace from Kyoei Aladdin, Poppy Red and Lightness vying for the lead with Combat State on their backs. POPPY RED (11) turned in a good effort on debut four-and-a-half months ago when 4.5 lengths away in third at this track over 800m. Has not been to the races since that outing. Drawn out a bit but can return in winning form. COMBAT STATE (7) will find this a little easier than his third on debut four weeks ago, beaten 1.75 lengths at the end of 1400m here. Has plenty of upside so he should pay to follow. LAGOON PREMIUM (1) missed the placings on debut then improved last start but found a couple better over 1400m at this circuit, beaten 3.5 lengths after being in the firing line on the bend. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. KYOEI ALADDIN (8) did a fair job on debut last time out, finishing 2.25 lengths from the winner in third over 1400m at this venue. Has ability and worth including in the exotics.
